Meat Lovers Pizza Tacos

Ingredients:
For the Meat Mixture:
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb Italian sausage (casings removed)
1/2 cup diced pepperoni
1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about 4-5 slices)
1/4 cup diced onions (optional)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Taco Shells:
8 hard taco shells (or soft flour tortillas for a different twist)
For the Toppings:
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or Italian cheese blend)
1/4 cup pizza sauce (plus more for drizzling)
Fresh basil or parsley (optional, for garnish)
Red pepper flakes (optional, for extra heat)
Sliced olives (optional)
Instructions:
1. Cook the Meat:
In a large skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and sausage. Cook, breaking up the meat with a spoon, until browned and cooked through (about 5-7 minutes).
Once the meat is cooked, add the diced pepperoni, crumbled bacon, onions (if using), garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir well and cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the flavors meld together. Remove from heat and set aside.
2. Prepare the Taco Shells:
If you’re using hard taco shells, you can bake them according to package instructions to make them extra crispy, or you can warm them on the stovetop or microwave.
If you prefer soft tortillas, heat them in a dry skillet or in the microwave wrapped in a damp paper towel for 20-30 seconds until soft and pliable.
3. Assemble the Meat Lovers Pizza Tacos:
Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce in the bottom of each taco shell.
Spoon the meat mixture evenly into each taco shell, packing it in so it’s nice and full.
Top each taco with a generous amount of shredded mozzarella cheese (or Italian cheese blend).
Place the tacos on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
4. Finish and Serve:
Remove the tacos from the oven. Drizzle with additional pizza sauce on top of the melted cheese.
Optional: Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, and sliced olives if desired.
Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Meat Lovers Pizza Tacos!
