“Iran has officially responded to our Obliteration of their Nuclear Facilities with a very weak response, which we expected, and have very effectively countered,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Monday afternoon. “There have been 14 missiles fired—13 were knocked down, and 1 was ‘set free,’ because it was headed in a nonthreatening direction. I am pleased to report that NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done.”

The Iranian military launched about a dozen missiles toward Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, home to about 10,000 U.S. troops, in retaliation for a U.S. attack on Saturday against three nuclear energy facilities in Iran. There have been no reports of injuries or deaths from independent media sources, appearing to confirm the president’s claims.

Trump went on to write that Iran had “gotten it all out of their ‘system,'” and that there would “hopefully, be no further HATE.” The president also thanked Iran for giving the U.S. early notice of the missile attack, “which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured.” That fact had been reported earlier by the New York Times.

Trump went on to write that “perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same,” ending his post with a bizarre sign-off that’s become quite common: “Thank you for your attention to this matter!” along with an all-caps, “DONALD J. TRUMP, PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.”

But that wasn’t all, Trump wrote a follow-up tweet thanking “the Highly Respected Emir of Qatar,” and noting that no Qataris had been injured or killed. Again, Trump ended his post with the sign-off, “Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Trump’s third post in the series simply read, “CONGRATULATIONS WORLD, IT’S TIME FOR PEACE!” The president had posted in the immediate aftermath of the attack on the U.S. base on Qatar but seemed fixated on the media reports that we still don’t know the extent of the damage at the three nuclear energy facilities in Iran, including the Fordo facility, the Natanz enrichment plant, and the Isfahan nuclear site.

Stocks rose and oil prices fell after it became clear that Iran’s response would be muted in an effort not to escalate the conflict further, according to Bloomberg News.
